Our Tahr hunts are for free range 11-13 inch bulls that will make the SCI record book. You might see an average of 15-20 Tahr per day with 3 trophy bulls or more on a good day. The prize of the Tahr is his winter coat all though the bulls are grouped up in March and April their coats are not great for life-size mounts until May. May is one of the best hunting months the Tahr catching them before the heavy snows.
Tahr hunts are accessed by 4x4 vehicles and on foot in the mountains. The Tahr hunt is a mountain hunt so hunters should be in good physical shape. Hunters also have the option to access Tahr country via a helicopter at approximately $1200US per hour. Private land Tahr hunts are also available.
