Our Red Stag hunt are conducted on ranches up to 6,000 acres and made up of both open tussock country and bush clad valleys. The properties rise from 1,500 ft. to over 6,000 ft. and offer excellent Red Stag habitat.
The best time to hunt stag is during the roar (rut) which is March and April. This hunt is very similar to a September elk hunt. Most of our stag hunts are conducted by spot and stalk and calling during the roar.
On all of our stag hunts you can also find Chamois, Fallow, Tahr, Ram, Goat and Boar which can be harvested on any package for an additional trophy fee.
Free Range: These hunts are for 10-14 point red stags that average 250 SCI and will score at least 200 SCI. On this hunt you will see an average of 15-20 deer per day with 3 trophy stags or more on a good day. This hunt is conducted on free range ranches and any size Stag is fair game.
300 Class: These hunts are for 14-18 point red stags that average 300 SCI and will score at least 275 SCI. On this hunt you will see an average of 15-20 deer per day with 3 trophy stags or more on a good day. This hunt is conducted on both free range and estates.
350 Class Hunts: These hunts are for 16-20 point red stags that average 350 SCI with potential for larger and will score at least 330 SCI. On this hunt you will see an average of 15-20 deer per day with 5 trophy stags or more on a good day. This hunt is conducted on private estates.
All of our stag hunts can be upgraded to hunt a larger Stag per trophy fee. Hunters that book a 300 class Stag hunt can shoot any stag under 350 inches SCI. Hunters that book a 350 class Stag hunt can shoot any Stag under 400 inches.
